Important Info

*Cabin Living*

Residential campers live in cabins according to age and sex and utilize a central bathing facility. The administrative staff arranges cabin groups with careful attention given to information contained within the Confidential Information Form (Parents). The Camp firmly maintains age appropriate staff to camper ratio and all counselors live with campers in the cabins. Cabin groups work toward a cooperative living environment through group dynamics, social consciousness, and an overnight camping experience.

*Food*

The food, delicious and plentiful, is served family style and the cooks prepare all meals using fresh vegetables, meats and fruits. A nutritionist at the University of Connecticut reviews all menus. Vegetarian meals are available.

*Health Certificate & Safety*

Each camper and CIT must have a physical examination by a physician within two (2) years of the camp season. The front portion of the health form must be filled out within six (6) months of the current camping season. A completed health form must be received two (2) weeks prior to attendance, signed by a physician and parent or guardian. NO CAMPER WILL BE ADMITTED WITHOUT THE COMPLETED HEALTH FORM. A Camp Health Manager (RN/EMT) is at camp at all times and lives in the camp's Health Center. Physician offices are located in nearby Moodus Center and full medical facilities are available with Middlesex Hospital. Parents are contacted should their child require medical attention. The Middlesex County Camp is licensed by the Connecticut State Department of Health.
